Overview:
- On-site role responsible for managing medical staff office operations and credentialing across two affiliated hospitals.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and supports coordination between medical staff, leadership, and governing bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
Credentialing & Privileging:
- Manage initial appointments and reappointments for providers and allied health staff.
- Verify education, licensure, certifications, and work history.
- Maintain accurate and confidential credentialing records.
- Coordinate privileging decisions with leadership and committees.
Medical Staff Administration:
- Organize and coordinate meetings (medical staff, departments, committees).
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and follow-up documentation.
- Maintain and update bylaws, rules, and policies.
- Act as a resource for staff regarding policies and credentialing processes.
Compliance & Accreditation:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission).
- Prepare documentation for audits and surveys.
- Maintain records for peer review and performance evaluations (OPPE/FPPE).
Communication & Coordination:
- Serve as liaison between medical staff, leadership, and governing boards.
- Coordinate across multiple sites to align credentialing and governance processes.
- Support integration of contracted, telehealth, and locum providers.
Additional Duties:
- Assist with payer enrollment and provider onboarding.
- Coordinate provider start dates and onboarding processes.
- Support medical student and learner rotations in collaboration with HR and departments.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of credentialing processes, medical staff operations, and regulatory standards.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with credentialing systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years of recent credentialing experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of medical staff office experience.
- Medical terminology knowledge.
- Must have a personal vehicle.
Preferred:
- Degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPCS, CPMSM).
- Experience in rural, critical access, or multi-site healthcare settings.
