MEDICAL ASSISTANT / LPN

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Medical Assistant supports providers in patient care and clinic operations by managing patient flow and performing clinical and administrative duties.
Responsibilities include rooming patients, administering immunizations and medications as directed, collecting laboratory specimens, and collaborating with the healthcare team to support quality patient care.

Depending on the clinic and specialty, additional duties may include:

Providing telephone support and facilitating communication between patients and providers.
Assisting with prescription refills and prior authorizations.
Performing phlebotomy and laboratory testing.
Performing X-ray duties if qualified and authorized.
Supporting front desk and patient check-in operations.
Ordering and stocking supplies.

REQUIREMENTS:

MEDICAL ASSISTANT CANDIDATES:

High school diploma or GED — Required.
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP, OR completion of an eligible Registered Medical Assistant program with on-the-job experience and successful completion of the RMA certification exam — Required.
Current BLS certification — Required.
Clinical setting experience — Required.
Proof of qualifying education and certification must be provided.
