Certified Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical support under the direct supervision of an Office Nurse or Physician. The role requires a professional appearance, caring attitude, strong patient-service skills, discretion, confidentiality, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Responsibilities:

Perform blood draws, injections, immunizations, lab tests, and other procedures within MA scope.
Assist physicians with patient examinations and obtain vital signs.
Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
Assist patients to and from exam rooms and during procedures.
Maintain clean and properly stocked exam rooms.
Take and return patient phone calls as directed.
Provide patient instructions as directed by the physician.
Maintain medical records, referral forms, lab slips, and other documentation.
Assist with nursing procedures as directed by the physician.
Order and maintain adequate clinical supplies.
Work collaboratively as part of a clinical team.
Perform additional duties as assigned while remaining within MA certification guidelines.

Requirements:

At least 2 years of formal Medical Assistant education/training. required

At least 3 years of relevant Medical Assistant experience in a medical setting. required

Current Medical Assistant certification. required
BLS certification. required
BLS must be from AHA.
Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and exercise discretion.
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.

Certification:

Medical Assistant Certification – Required.
