Job Summary:
Seeking a qualified Dentist to provide comprehensive dental care to adolescent youth in a secure institutional healthcare setting. The dentist will provide preventive, acute, and chronic dental care, perform examinations and treatments, maintain accurate dental records, provide patient education, and coordinate referrals for services that cannot be performed on-site.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited dental school.
- Current, active Maryland dental license in good standing.
- Minimum 3 years of full-time professional dental experience.
- Experience providing dental care to pediatric and adolescent patients.
- Institutional-setting experience preferred.
- Current DEA Registration.
- Current Maryland CDS Registration.
- Current CPR/Emergency Cardiac Care certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
- Must be able to provide proof of all required qualifications and credentials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive dental examinations and preventive care.
- Provide cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, x-rays, restorations, extractions, and anterior root canals.
- Evaluate and treat dental pain, infections, and acute dental conditions.
- Develop treatment plans and maintain accurate patient records.
- Provide oral hygiene education.
- Refer patients for specialized or off-site dental services when necessary.
- Coordinate care with medical and nursing staff.
- Follow infection-control, safety, and applicable dental regulations.
