HIM Lead Application Analyst
Position Overview:
- 6-month temporary back-fill leadership assignment supporting Health Information Management (HIM) applications.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for HIM systems and workflows.
- Supports operational continuity, system stability, and ongoing enhancement initiatives.
- Works closely with HIM leadership, clinical teams, operational stakeholders, and IT staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical oversight to application analysts.
- Coordinate and prioritize team workload to meet service expectations and deadlines.
- Act as escalation point for complex integrated system issues.
- Gather requirements and identify workflow and system solutions with operational stakeholders.
- Conduct fit/gap analysis and document current and future-state workflows.
- Design, test, validate, and implement system enhancements.
- Lead or support small- to medium-scale projects and initiatives.
- Participate in integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Review, triage, and assign incidents and change requests.
- Participate in a second-level 24x7 on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 6–10+ years supporting healthcare applications or clinical systems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in user-friendly language.
- Comfortable in fast-paced healthcare IT environments.
- Willingness to obtain application-specific certification within 90 days if required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Healthcare, Business, or related field.
- Experience working in hospitals, health systems, or medical practices.
- Experience supporting Epic HIM modules.
- Experience supporting OnBase workflows.
- Epic Gallery project experience preferred, including implementation, optimization, or upgrades.
