RADIOLOGY IMAGING APP
Position Overview:
  • Provider Type: APP.
  • Specialty: Imaging/Radiology.
  • FTE: 1.0.
  • Outpatient: 75%.
  • Inpatient: 25%.
  • Assignment approval: 6 months.
  • Reason for opening: Coverage gap.
  • Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient.
  • Hospital size: Approximately 450 beds.
  • Patient population: Young adults through elderly.
  • Average volume: 8–10 patients/day.

Schedule:
  • Monday–Friday.
  • 7:30 AM–4:00 PM.
  • 8-hour shifts.
  • No call.
  • No rounding or admissions.
  • Two locums providers may be considered to provide coverage.

Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Independently perform fluoroscopic studies following training and credentialing.
  • Perform final interpretations and sign reports.
  • Work with radiologic technologists who will assist with fluoroscopy equipment as needed.
  • Modified barium swallow studies performed collaboratively with Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Supervising radiologist provides oversight and conducts random chart audits.
  • Radiology physicians provide training and proctoring as needed.

Required Procedures:
  • Esophagram.
  • Upper GI.
  • Upper GI with small bowel follow-through.
  • Modified barium swallow.

Preferred Procedures:
  • Single-contrast barium enema.
  • Air-contrast barium enema.

Credentialing / Case Requirements:
  • Documentation of at least 100 representative patients/procedures from the previous 24 months.
  • Case list must include diagnosis/procedure, date, and facility where performed.
  • At least 5 completed procedures of each required procedure type within the previous 24 months.
  • Proctoring may be available for candidates who need additional procedure experience for credentialing.

Requirements:
  • APP – PA or NP.
  • BLS from AHA or American Red Cross – Required.
  • Epic EMR experience.
  • Washington license not currently required for submission; this may change depending on the start date and credentialing timeline.
  • Must be able to obtain required privileges and complete credentialing.
