Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ICU) – Teaching Hospital | Massachusetts (Local Only)
We are seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join a busy ICU team at a teaching hospital in Massachusetts. This is a full-time locum opportunity ideal for providers with strong critical care experience who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Schedule:
- Day/Night rotation: 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
- Includes rotational weekends and holidays (Friday nights considered weekend coverage).
- Full-time, 40+ hours/week (overtime eligible).
Clinical Setting:
- Adult ICU (Teaching Hospital).
- Average census: ~7 patients (10-bed unit).
- Epic EMR.
Role Overview:
- Work alongside 4 APPs with MD/fellow/attending supervision.
- “Responding clinician” role—no procedures required.
- Focus on rounding, clinical management, and task completion.
- Bread-and-butter ICU and Med-Surg patients (low acuity complexity).
- No intubations, lines, vents, transplants, neuro procedures, or invasive interventions.
Requirements:
- Active Massachusetts license (required – no licensing support).
- Board Certification in Acute Care NP (ICU experience required).
- Minimum 2+ years ICU/critical care experience.
- ACLS, BLS, DEA required.
- Must reside within 60-mile radius (local candidates only).
Additional Details:
- Credentialing: ~90 days.
- No travel or lodging provided.
- Strong preference for local providers able to commute (train/subway/drive).
