OB/GYN Physician Assistant (Locum)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Overtime-
Capped at $434/hour

This role provides a mix of outpatient clinic care and hospital coverage in an OB/GYN setting. The provider will manage obstetric and gynecologic patients, support deliveries and procedures, and collaborate with an established care team.

SCHEDULE:
  • Primarily clinic-based: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Some hospital coverage required.
  • Full-time coverage preferred.
  • Call schedule: 1 in 5 days, 1 in 10 overnight/weekends.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage OB/GYN patients in clinic and hospital settings.
  • Provide care for low- and high-risk pregnancies.
  • Perform and assist with routine and complicated deliveries.
  • Conduct daily patient visits (average ~20 patients/day)
  • Support GYN procedures and surgical cases.
  • Interpret fetal heart monitoring (NST/CST/FSE)
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff.
  • No supervision of other providers required.
CASE MIX & VOLUME:
  • Low-risk pregnancy: 70%
  • High-risk pregnancy: 10%
  • C-section rate: 30%
  • Office GYN: 10%
  • Surgical GYN: 10%
  • ~3 deliveries per week per provider.
  • ~8 GYN surgeries per week.
TEAM & FACILITY SUPPORT:
  • 5 OB/GYN physicians and 2 mid-level providers.
  • Onsite lab and ultrasound (performed by techs)
  • 11 exam rooms.
  • Strong support staff including RNs, LPNs, MAs, PAs, and surgery scheduler.
  • Hospital coverage includes a large, high-acuity facility with trauma capabilities.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Management of low-risk pregnancies.
  • FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
  • Level I OB ultrasounds (screening/viability)
  • Routine vaginal deliveries and low forceps.
  • C-section decision-making and management.
  • Complicated deliveries (breech, multiples, abruptions, etc.)
  • VBACs.
  • Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • High-risk pregnancy management.
  • Performing and interpreting OB ultrasounds.
  • Level II (targeted/anatomic) ultrasounds.
  • Office/minor GYN procedures (IUDs, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP)
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Includes flights, lodging, rental car, or mileage reimbursement.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Board Certified.
  • Active state license preferred.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
  • OB/GYN experience required.
  • NPDB report (within 30 days) required at time of presentation.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • BLS.
  • ACLS.
  • Board Certification.
  • NRP.
