Locum Physician – Orthopedic Surgery (Sports Medicine)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Seeking a Sports Medicine fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon for a 6-month locum assignment with a mix of clinic and OR responsibilities.
SCHEDULE:
- 2 clinic days per week (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
- 2 OR days per week (starting at 7:30 AM).
- Flexible scheduling based on provider availability.
CALL COVERAGE:
- Weekend Call: 1 in 7 weekends (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM).
- Weeknight Call: Shared rotation; some weeks no call, others 1 night/week.
- Responsibilities include ER phone consults and patient rounds within 24 hours of admission.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage 25–30 patients per day in clinic.
- Perform approximately 8–10 surgeries per week.
Required Case Experience:
- ACL, MCL, PCL procedures.
- Knee and ligament reconstruction.
- Meniscus procedures.
- Hip arthroscopy (required).
- Multi-ligament procedures (required).
- General “bread and butter” Sports Medicine cases.
PRACTICE DETAILS:
- EMR: Epic
- Team includes multiple orthopedic surgeons and advanced practice providers.
- APPs assist in OR and support post-operative care and call coverage.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine.
- Active state license or IMLC eligibility required.
- DEA required.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

CALL COMPENSATION:
- Weeknight Call: $900 per shift.
- 24-Hour Weekend Call: $2,600.
- Call Back Rate: $420/hour.
