MEDICAL ASSISTANT – TEMPORARY POSITION

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Maintain a positive public image by treating patients with courtesy and respect.
  • Assist physicians with basic office medical functions and patient care.
  • Provide patient and family education, counseling, and teaching.
  • Bring patients to exam rooms, obtain brief histories, prepare patients for exams, and take vital signs.
  • Handle clerical duties including referrals, scheduling, forms, mailing, and answering phones.
  • Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
  • Stock rooms and maintain instruments and equipment.
  • Autoclave equipment as needed.
  • Assist with orientation of personnel, particularly nursing-related functions.
  • Administer injections.
  • Attend staff meetings and in-services.
  • Assume charge responsibilities when required in the absence of supervisory personnel.
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience – REQUIRED.
  • Comfortable with phone calls, greeting patients, processing, mailing, and cleaning – REQUIRED.
  • High School Diploma – REQUIRED.
  • BLS NOT REQUIRED.
  • Candidate must be aware that this is a temporary position.
