MEDICAL ASSISTANT II – FAMILY MEDICINE / PEDIATRIC SUPPORT
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant II with dedicated pediatric experience to provide clinical and administrative support in a family medicine and outpatient care setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare patients, examination rooms, and equipment for procedures and exams.
Take and accurately document vital signs and communicate patient concerns to providers.
Assist with patient examinations, treatments, and urgent or emergency situations.
Administer injections and perform simple diagnostic tests.
Collect and process laboratory specimens and perform blood draws as required.
Provide patient education and instructions for procedures.
Handle patient phone calls, schedule appointments, and coordinate with nursing staff and providers as appropriate.
Register new patients and maintain accurate medical records.
Assist patients with insurance and required forms.
Operate and maintain clinical equipment.
Maintain aseptic technique, including sterilization, disinfection, and proper disposal of contaminated materials.
Clean, wrap, and autoclave instruments and maintain supplies and equipment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program – Required
Current certification as one of the following:
CMA through AAMA.
RMA through AMT.
CCMA with the required apprenticeship program.
Pediatric experience – Required.
Previous experience in an office or outpatient ambulatory care setting strongly preferred.
Current AHA BLS Certification – Required.
