Intake Therapist – Adult Mental Health Services
Position Overview:
Seeking a licensed mental health professional to provide intake assessments and care coordination for adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. This role focuses on evaluating client needs, developing initial treatment plans, facilitating access to services, and supporting consumers through the transition into ongoing care.
Schedule:
- Full-time or flexible part-time opportunities available.
- Primarily office-based with walk-in and scheduled appointments.
- Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and complete documentation within required timeframes.
- Gather and integrate information from clients, families, providers, medical records, and other sources.
- Utilize motivational interviewing and person-centered planning approaches.
- Develop safety plans and initial treatment recommendations.
- Coordinate referrals for specialized evaluations and support services.
- Assist clients in accessing mental health, substance use, and community-based resources.
- Participate in clinical supervision, case consultations, and team meetings.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation and comply with audit requirements.
- Adhere to professional ethics, licensure standards, and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
- Active state licensure required; full licensure strongly preferred (LMSW, LLP, or LPC).
- Minimum one year of post-master's experience providing mental health treatment to adults with severe mental illness.
- Experience developing treatment plans and engaging clients in services.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Cultural competency and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to obtain required mental health professional credentials within established timelines.
- Substance abuse credential (CAADC) or active certification development plan required.
