Temp Phlebotomist.
This overnight Phlebotomist role requires working weekends and holidays, with assignments rotating every other weekend. During the assignment period, one holiday shift will be scheduled for July 4 or Labor Day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections for patients of all ages.
- Collect specimens from Emergency Department and inpatient units according to priority.
- Verify patient identification and accurately label specimens at the bedside.
- Handle and transport specimens in accordance with laboratory policies.
- Communicate effectively with nursing and laboratory staff regarding delays or issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of recent hospital-based phlebotomy experience.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collections.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume overnight environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- National phlebotomy certification.
- Previous Emergency Department experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability to work weekends and holidays is mandatory.
- Flexibility to float between Emergency Department and inpatient units as needed.
