ADULT OUTPATIENT THERAPIST

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Provide clinical services, including intake evaluations and direct treatment for adults and families.
Assess and document client needs for outpatient mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse services.
Provide individual and group therapy.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, family members, and other support providers.
Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations.
Maintain timely and accurate clinical records and documentation.
Follow professional code of ethics and established policies/procedures.
Coordinate effective discharge planning prior to case closure.
Complete required training related to treatment of adults with mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders.
Additional duties as needed.

SCHEDULE:

REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling – REQUIRED.
Corresponding Michigan state licensure – REQUIRED.
Minimum 1 year of experience treating or working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness – REQUIRED.
Fieldwork/internship experience may count toward the 1-year requirement.
Must obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credential within 120 days of hire.
Must be able to work independently.
Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships.
Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and other providers.
Flexible and adaptable to program needs.
