Adult Outpatient Therapist – Behavioral Health
Position Overview:
Provide outpatient mental health and co-occurring substance abuse services to adults and families through clinical assessments, individual and group therapy, and coordinated care.
Compensation:
- Full License: $29.47–$39.67/hour
- Limited License: $27.22–$36.63/hour
- Salary depends on licensing and experience. Compensation is grant-based and non-negotiable.
Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM–7:00 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
- Flexible scheduling available; some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake evaluations and provide direct clinical treatment.
- Assess and document client needs using Person-Centered Planning principles.
- Provide individual and group therapy.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, families, and other service providers.
- Maintain clinical records and documentation accurately and promptly.
- Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations.
- Coordinate discharge planning and follow professional ethical standards.
- Complete 24 hours of annual training related to adult mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.
- Maintain required state licensure and meet funding and program requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling — Required.
- Appropriate Michigan licensure — Required.
- At least 1 year of experience treating or working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness; fieldwork or internship experience may count — Required.
- Must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credential within 120 days of hire.
- Must be able to work independently and demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
- Must demonstrate cultural competency and the ability to build therapeutic relationships with diverse populations.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; candidates requiring sponsorship or on student/work visas are not eligible.
Accepted Licenses:
LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP.
