JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical First Assistant to provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Surgical Support: Provide technical assistance under the direct supervision of the surgeon throughout various complex procedures.
- Clinical Excellence: Apply advanced knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative techniques.
- Patient Safety: Maintain a sterile field and utilize life-saving surgical tools and techniques to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Collaborative Care: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to manage a diverse caseload across multiple surgical specialties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) is required.
- Certification: Must hold current certification through the NBSTSA or NCCT (these are interchangeable).
- Life Support: Current BLS (AHA) certification is required.
- Skills: A completed skills checklist within the last year is preferred.
PREFERRED CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
Candidates with experience in the following specialties are highly preferred:
- Orthopedics
- General Surgery
- Endovascular
- Urology
- Obstetrics (OB)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Credentialing: Physical copies of the NBSTSA/NCCT and BLS certifications must be included in your profile.
- Eligibility: Former full-time employees of the health system are not eligible for contract roles within six months of their last date of employment.
