DIRECTOR – EMERGENCY SERVICES


SCHEDULE & EMR:
  • Full-time interim leadership role
  • EPIC EMR
  • Orientation dates: 9/14, 9/21, or 9/28
  • 1–2 rounds of video interviews with the C-Suite team

POSITION OVERVIEW:
  • Provide leadership and oversight across 3 Emergency Departments
  • Lead a large healthcare operation spanning multiple facilities
  • Must be highly visible, collaborative, confident, and comfortable in a Level I Trauma Center
  • Support and coach less-experienced leaders
  • Build strong relationships with physicians, inpatient leaders, and other market leaders
  • Drive workflow, triage, efficiency, and process improvements

KEY GOALS:
  • Improve ED workflow and triage processes
  • Reduce patients who leave without being seen
  • Improve leadership and staff morale across all 3 EDs
  • Increase visibility and accountability
  • Improve operational efficiency and performance metrics
  • Strengthen collaboration among inpatient leaders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 5 years of interim/progressive leadership experience in a hospital or clinical environment
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
  • Experience overseeing 200+ employees, including FTEs, PRN, and temporary staff
  • Experience with a 600+ bed hospital or large healthcare system spanning multiple hospitals
  • Recent/current Level I Trauma Center experience
  • Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license
  • BLS certification
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Power BI
  • EPIC experience highly preferred
  • Stratus finance system experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
