Nurse Manager – Obstetrics (Interim/Travel)
Unit Overview:
- Oversees maternity services including Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, Postpartum, Nursery, NICU, and OB/GYN patients.
- Level II maternal and neonatal care setting.
- Approximately 50–60 births per month.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1.
- Experience with glucose, magnesium, and pitocin drips preferred.
- Uses EPIC EMR.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Responsible for nurse scheduling.
- Oversees approximately 47 FTE staff members including RNs and techs.
- May assist clinically during extreme situations, though not routinely expected.
- Provides after-hours support for staffing, provider concerns, capacity issues, and patient situations.
- Exposure to budgeting and department financial processes.

Candidate Requirements:
- 24–36 months recent maternity/obstetrics experience required.
- Minimum 15 months interim leadership or nurse manager experience in maternity/OB settings required.
- Supervisor-only experience will not substitute for nurse manager/interim leadership experience.
- Experience in L&D, Mother/Baby, Postpartum, NICU, and Nursery required.
- BSN required; MSN preferred.
- EPIC experience required.
- Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment within the last 15 months.
- No first-time travelers.
Additional Requirements:
- Active state or compact nursing license required at submission.
- Resume/work history must clearly demonstrate recent OB nurse leadership experience.
- Specialty-specific skills checklist required.
- Driver’s license required.
- Professional leadership references preferred.
Contract Notes:
- Travelers may be required to work 1–2 summer holidays depending on unit needs.
- Non-billable orientation: 16 hours.
- Past employees within the last 12 months may be subject to separation policy restrictions.
