L&D RN – Job Summary:
Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery care.
- Perform head-to-toe assessments, reassessments, pain assessments, and develop/revise individualized plans of care.
- Administer medications safely according to the five rights and patient condition.
- Provide patient/family education and support throughout the care process.
- Perform clinical and technical nursing skills within scope of practice.
- Maintain a safe environment and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, care coordination, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide age-appropriate care and address psychosocial, cultural, and family needs.
- Coordinate and supervise patient care as needed.
- Maintain required annual competencies, including bedside blood glucose testing.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year L&D RN experience – Required.
- Postpartum and nursery experience – Required.
- ACLS – AHA – Required.
- BLS – AHA – Required.
- NRP – Required.
- BSN – Preferred.
- Active Ohio or Compact RN license at submission.
- Current AHA certifications required at start.
- Resume and skills checklist completed within the past year.
- If COVID vaccinated, provide vaccination card.
