Histotechnician (Histotech)
Job Description:
- Prepare thin tissue sections for microscopic examination and analysis.
- Examine, fix, and process tissue samples to preserve them for testing.
- Embed tissue samples in paraffin wax and cut sections using a microtome or cryostat.
- Mount tissue sections on slides and stain samples to highlight abnormalities.
- Identify factors affecting procedures and test quality, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Manage laboratory supplies and maintain quality-control procedures.
Requirements:
- 2 years of Histotech experience – Required.
- HT or HTL certification through ASCP – Required.
- ASCP certification documentation must be provided at submission.
