MEDICAL ASSISTANT – OUTPATIENT CLINIC
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support providers and manage patient flow in a busy outpatient clinic. The role serves patients across all age groups, from infants through geriatrics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs.
- Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed.
- Collect laboratory specimens.
- Provide telephone and patient support.
- Assist with prescription refills and prior authorizations.
- Facilitate communication between patients and providers.
- Perform phlebotomy and clinic laboratory testing as needed.
- Provide front desk/check-in support.
- Order and stock supplies.
- Perform X-ray duties if properly qualified and certified.
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinic leadership.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (ABHES,
- CAAHEP, or equivalent).
- Current BLS Certification.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work with patients across all age groups.
LPN candidates may also be considered.
LPN REQUIREMENTS:
- Active Minnesota LPN license.
- Current BLS Certification.
