Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Physical Therapist Assistants work under the direction of a Physical Therapist to deliver treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and assist in modifying care as needed. They provide hands-on support to patients across all age groups, helping them improve mobility, strength, and overall function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement components of patient treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Assist patients with stretching, exercises, and balance training techniques.
- Follow treatment instructions and collaborate closely with the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Monitor and document patient responses to treatment.
- Educate patients and families on appropriate at-home techniques and exercises.
- Transfer and assist patients safely between mobility devices and therapy areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
- Complete administrative duties, including scheduling and documentation.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist Assistant experience.
- Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation experience required.
- Active PTA license.
- BLS certification required.
- Eligible for state licensure, including compact privileges where applicable.
